Municipality Game
MunicipalityGame, Kuntapeli in Finnish, depicts and teaches the municipal economy and decision making processes within a municipality. In the game you are a decision maker; by choosing the main goals and strategies you aim to achieve as positive an outcome as possible.
The decisions and strategies you make have a positive, neutral or negative impact on the economy, population and employment rate of the municipality. You can play with any Finnish municipality and the game uses authentic key figures of the selected municipality.
The game is targeted especially for policymakers and professionals working in municipal administration to highlight the whole decision making chain as well as cause and effect relationships. The game is also a useful tool for students hoping to gain more insight into the processes of municipal governing.
The game was developed for the Foundation for Municipal Development using HTML5 technology. MunicipalityGame can be played online with a browser.
